mymc is built around the idea that your rides are yours. This page explains exactly what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. It is plain English on purpose. Lawyer-grade wording will eventually live in Terms; this is the human version.
What we collect
- GPS coordinates while you record a ride or navigate. Stored on your device, plus (if you sync) on our server to back up your library and share rides you mark public.
- Motion data from your phone’s IMU — lean angle, lateral g, yaw rate, surface roughness. Same storage path as GPS.
- Email address if you sign in with email/password; a stable identifier from Sign in with Apple otherwise. Used only to authenticate you.
- Crash diagnostics (stack traces, build version) when the app crashes. Coordinate-shaped numbers and emails are scrubbed before the report leaves the device.
What we don’t collect
- No third-party advertising SDKs.
- No location resale, no sharing with brokers.
- No tracking across other apps or websites.
What you can do
- Default-private rides. Every recording starts private. You explicitly opt in to share.
- Delete everything. Settings → Account → Delete account on the iOS app or /account on the web removes the user row, all GPX files, and any telemetry you contributed within ten seconds.
- Export everything. GDPR Article 20 data export ships in M6-07; until then email us and we’ll generate the zip manually.
Who has access
Engineers on the team can query the production database for debugging and admin moderation. Every admin write is logged in an audit table you can request a copy of. We don’t routinely read your rides; nothing fun happens there for us.
